As a former photojournalist, I always enjoyed sports photography. A photographer has the ability to freeze a moment of time with the release of a camera's shutter. Whether it is a hard hit on the football field, the peak of a basketball player's jump shot, or the facial expression of a volleyball player on an overhead smash - these single frozen moments of time live on in the image created. It seems like such a simple thing - just take a shot of players on the field - but it is so much more.
